The oil of unripe olives and the oil from the fruits of the wild olive tree(kotinos) was considered by the ancient Greeks that has, the best quality. Because of the difficulty and uniqueness of its production, and also because of the small quantity, usually used for the manufacture of ornamental and medicinal ointments. From history, of the book of Theophrastus we read: "For Myra (perfume) they mainly use oil of oak  of Egypt and Syria, which is slightly greasy.
